Had a great day today out on Lake Austin. Went to help Mike Hastings with a huge guide trip of 55 angler from Barton Creek. Went to city park at 12.30 and I cought 4 dinks on a baby -1 and one of my guys lost a good fish on a pearl fluke. Went to one of my honey hole looking for spawners and found what looked like a 10+. We tried and tried to get her to bite a tube one time and I missed. Had to get them back to the ramp at 4:30 so we took off. At the ramp I was taking with JjRoberts (James) and told him I knew where a monster was locked on a bed. He ask where and I hesitated. He then said "I dont care I just want to watch you catch it". So we took off and spent about 30 minutes went I finally got her. Thank somebody for 65lb braid because there was no stopping her from wrapping me arround a pipe, a chain and a 2X4! Finally got her netted and had to cut the line to get everything untangled. And i now have cought my personal best 11.1lbs and plan to have a replica made. She went right back to where I cought her healthy but unhappy!
Simplify!

Very nice! Congrats! Nothing like finding a pig on a bed and watching her eat it. I've yet to get a double digit fish off a bed, but I've caught several fish pushing it. Hope to find the 10+ one day.
Let's DO IT!

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach
