I have a 1990 Ford Ranger with a 2.9L V6 that is making a funny ticking noise. At first I thought lifters, but don't think it is the problem. The Truck still runs, but died on me the other day and started smoking a little. Started right back up and I drove it home and parked it, now I'm worried I have a real problem. I need a knowledgeable mechanic who is HONEST to help me diagnose/fix the problem. I can pay fair for the labor. I bought another engine for the truck to either replace the one I've got or use for parts to fix. It was cheap so I had to buy it. Anyone in the west fort worth area willing to help? Or does anyone know of an honest mechanic in the area?

Please call 817-727-1609

Thanks! I know exactly where that is. I grew up fishing in Mary's creek right down the street. Here pretty soon you can catch minnows with a sein net down there and do pretty good on 1-3 pound bass in the deep holes. I've caught a few 5 pounders down there over the years but they are rare. The creek has gone dry so many times the last few years.
