Have any of you Vegas goers eaten at his steak restaurant at Paris Las Vegas?

We're going back to Vegas in Oct and have reservations there. I'm a big Gordon fan and have always wanted to eat a beef wellington. Not sure what it tastes like so don't want to be disappointed....especially for the price

Dude I'm the same way. The beef wellington always looks great on Hell's Kitchen.

Never been but beef wellington just looks off putting to me. I would take a traditionally cooked steak over it any day.

It's kind of like a sausage in a blanket...except fancy.

I have not been there, but I believe the winner of the first-ever "Hell's Kitchen" was rewarded with employment at the "then-new" Gordon Ramsey Vegas restaurant.

I like GR, even though he's more of a reality food star than a chef.

I like his "how to cook a steak" videos, and squishing your thumb, palms and wrists to determine how you like your steak cooked.

Addendum: "Hey Donkey!"

Throw away the pastry and all that other carp and just eat a nice, rare-medium rare Chateaubriand. Beef Wellington is a good way to ruin great beef. I've had it and it's meh.

Keep in mind a Wellington has a liver mouse around the meat, and liver is gross.

I did eat at one of his pubs in London. It was great but expensive. The exchange rate then was $2.75/1.

A avg meal at his main restaurants in Lindon then would have cost us about $250 per person. The pub was about $95.

Funny thing is on kitchen nightmares he yells at folks for being out of stuff and we sat in the bar for a bit cause the dinner area of the pub didn't open for about 45min. They were out of several things. Not like it was the end of the night, they just opened.

I am sure Gordon has a great steak there and I hope you get the chance to try it. The wife and I go to Vegas every summer and we make it a point to try different places around town. Gordon's is on the list for next summer. You cant go wrong with any of those places in the big casinos from my experience. Of the 5 to 6 "high end" places we have been to in the past few years, NONE compare to the Prime Steakhouse at the Bellagio. Make reservations between 8-9 and you will get a close up view of the fountains (water cannons) as well. If you are downtown, Vic and Anthony's at the Nugget has some pretty nice fare as well. Good eatin!

Best steak you can get, when you can find it.
