I scored some Cabelas Arachnid casting reels at my local store today. I bought 7. $88 each.
Made by Daiwa, these are a 12-ball bearing version of the Tatula R.

Good buy. I bought three reels myself the cabelas salt striker inshore spinning reel 2500, pro guide spinning 1000 reel, and a salt stalker bat feeder 40b. Got great deals plus the cashier surprised me with another $20 coupon when checking out. I got all three for like $130 out the door. Plus I picked up 2 tackle bags for $7.88 reg $29.99.
Today I got my 12yr old a cabelas cat fish rod for $18 and I got a cabelas fish eagle UL rod for $21.
At my store they will be having a 20% off all cabela brand merchandise store wide this weekend and that includes all ready on sale items. I may go get another rod.
One thing I hate though is the stores rarely mark the on sale stuff so if you dont consult the website first you have no idea what is on sale. Also I found cabelas almost on a daily bases changes sale prices around 7 or 8 am every morning and they may stay up all day or just a few hours. And rarely do employees in teh stores know about them.
One more thing cabelas will honor sales up to 3 days before or after the sale dates. And they have a iphone type thing they can scan a item and tell you when it will be on sale in the future. but that may be different from employee to employee. The one guy I befriend tells me everything.

I'll go check out those tackle bags tonight. Unfortunately I have to drive past Cabelas 2X a day. I end up going there a lot.

I don't go to Cabelas that often. Most store brand stuff is a cheap Chinese knock-off and the name brand items are cheaper at Academy.

You would be incorrect in that assumption for some things. This reel being discussed included. But seeing as this is the 2nd thread you've come on and bashed store brand products, we get it, you don't like store brand...

Bob, I have had nothing but great experience with cabelas brand stuff and if it doesnt work or breaks cabela will replace it. I just bought three reels from them on sale, their brands and was told by the store manager if anything ever happens to them bring them back for a refund or exchange. Cant beat that! But there stuff is more expensive ill give you that, but I always wait to they have a sale. I shop at academy as well but even there I wait for a sale and I see little difference in name brand prices. Shimano is the exact same price across all the box stores unless they have a sale.
