I'm all for cordless ear-buds! The corded ones just get in the way, snag on everything, and the weight of all those wires dangling off your ears tends to pull 'em out. We'll see.....after my I-Phone 5 kicks the bucket!

I was bummed about no headphone jack, but they're still providing headphones that will plug in so I ain't even mad bruh Same. Then I realized that won't work if you also need to charge your phone while you want to listen to something. Also, it's one more think to carry with you and possibly lose. I'm not sold on the idea. I think the new ear buds will be cordless some are cordless and some plug into the lighn\tning port thing

I think I qualify for a free upgrade, as I haven't gotten an upgrade in about 4 years.
Yes, I heard the complaint from wimpy millennial hipsters about "no headphone jack". But I use my iPhone for calls, emails, and some personal apps (bank, fishing, weather/tides.
My employer pays for everything on my phone, except for any apps that I purchase.
I have an original iPhone 4 and just recently found out that iPhone 4 will not update to iOS8 or higher. And there'll perhaps no longer be anymore updates that iPhone 4 can get. Yall can laugh, but its a free phone with all international service. Plus I'm the only one in the company that hadn't lost their phone or got clumsy and broke it (those Otter defender cases come in handy)
You are gonna pay full price for the phone. The upgrade discount days are gone. Atleast for ATT, I can't speak for others.

What I read was the new ones are bluetooth-ish and you can still use your old 3.5mm by using the included adapter via lightening port.
But you have to carry the bud charger around with you if you want to use 'em for more than 5 hours.
Another secondary market idea....

I've never used a bluetooth audio device that did not have a delay when watching videos.

I wont be paying for anything, even the upgrade.
I spoke to one of my bosses (one of the lead engineers here)
He thought I was joking when I told him I still have an iPhone 4.
He said he'll go get a hammer and do me a favor.

Jabra Bluetooth Headphones These are the headphones I use now working out and at my desk. I'll never go back to the old plug in type.

The phones will come with the standard white wired headphone that has a lightning connect end instead of 3.5mm. It will come with lightning to 3.5mm connector to work with existing headphones.
The wireless ear buds that you all are talking about are a separate $150. With only 5 hours running time.
There will be a huge upgrade from iphone 4 to 7.

Don't care about the ear phone jack thing, got to have the new one, iPhones are about the only trend I stay with and will buy the latest and greatest every year no matter what.

I have the IPhone Forever plan with Sprint so we can all upgrade to new IPhones every time one comes out for free.

I think the new ear buds will be cordless They are offering cordless earbuds (for $150)'but are also including with the phone an adaptor that allows people to use earplugs with a cord. But even if you do invest in a set of AirPods, cords will still play a starring role for at least the next year. Both new iPhones get a pair of free wired, Lightning EarPods headphones in the box, along with the aforementioned adapter for Apple's Lightning port -- you won't have to go out and buy your own. That's a nice benefit for buyers, and also a double dose of plugs.
