New to Montgomery county. I hear there are gators in Lake Raven in the Huntsville State Park? Does anyone float tube this lake? I see a lot of folks and kids swimming, so what is the big deal about the gators, or is it?

I float tube a lot of water, never worried about gators,sharks or sting rays when wading, worry more about snakes.

I fished Raven all through college and many times since....great lake and I love it.
There are lots of gators in that lake...and some are quite big. I have personally seen two that were every bit of 12 ft....and they are not even remotely afraid of humans. No way in HELL I would ever put a tube or a kayak in that lake.

I fished it quite a bit in my 8' pond prowler. Perfect lake for a small boat!
