It also helps if your fishing partners can throw as well i got 2 that can and one we knick named taco woot

Too true. I don't toss anything smaller than 8 and that is in the summer. I rest most of the next on my shoulder and I don't feel like it is that much of a twisting motion to get it to open, but I also don't have any back issues. I toss a 12 the same way.

Took my buddy who said the 3 footer, after he threw his for a while, I handed him my 6 footer. thumb He bought himself a 6 footer later that day. Been practicing some of those throw from the videos. Getting more comfortable with one of the throws. Been eating a lot of tacos here lately. After practicing for a while, began to crave tacos. Hopefully will get some shad and exchange them for fish tacos. food

Method I use is very simple.

Beging with whichever hand you throw with.
1. Put band, loop, etc on.
2. With your pam facing up in your throwing hand begin rolling line in loops in throwing hand, each loop same direction.
3. If the net is long, say 5' or more go to 4.
Place horn of net in throwing hand gripping just below horn. Reach down with throwing hand and grip middle of net, also in throwing hand. If this shortens the net enough to lift it go on to 4. If not half the net again.
4. Lift net off ground with throwing hand. With your off hand reach down and grab the weight line on the side facing away from the direction you are standing. Lift the line up and place the lead line under your thumb on throwing side. You should now have rope, horn, net rolls if needed and lead line in your hand now. Turn your throwing hand so that items are hanging down.
5. With your off hand grasp the side of net at bottom if split created when you lifted lead line.
6. Begin gathering net into your of hand by reaching back towards your throwing hand gathering net in your off hand like an acordian. Once you have about half the net loaded like this you are almost ready.
7. Raise the net to the level to throw, then swing back towards your throwing side, then with a moderate amount of force swing the throwing side acroas towards your off side releasing your throwing hand toward the end. When the net starts pulling line from the off hand release. Easier to watch a video of this, but there it is. You will not get wet this way unless throwing into wind.
