Thanks to all my brothers and sisters on this site, and special thanks for my best friend, Travis. I'm the buddy he took out for a whooping and to get a load off my mind. My 81 year old father is extremely independent, but his faculties aren't what they use to be. My family moved to Winnsboro when I was three from Roswell, NM. My father goes back each year to get our annual supply of chile peppers. However, he suffered a series of mini-strokes a year ago during a heart procedure and has suffered bouts of dementia ever since. We didn't know it, but he found the keys to his old 74 beetle and took off with his dog Friday afternoon last week to get his peppers. We couldn't trace his tracks and were forced to submit a Silver Alert. Thanks to Facebook, he surfaced while trying to trade the bug for a truck because it broke down in Lamesa. My brother and I retrieved him, the dog, and even the beetle on Monday. The power of prayer. He's home now under house arrest by my mother, and I gave him some crappie, most of which Travis caught! Thanks, buddy!
