Thanks Roofish for the reply and as always it is GREAT seeing a "ROOFISH" POST! The river it's self is public but you have to go through private property to get there. If you have a kayak or small boat there are several public crossings you can put in at which will give you some GREAT fishing spots! Also most of the land owners are super nice and will usually let you go through their property to get to the river. Seek permission FIRST! Side Note: Lots of walking and the roads are really rough to travel! Also there are some "HUGE" Rattle Snakes in that part of Texas!

Great pictures Chuck. Looks like you had a super trip. Me and Jeff kayaked the Sabinal and Frio Rivers this summer and did pretty good. Caught several nice bass and a few sunnies as well. Where are the put in points on the Nueces? Are there any? Again super post.

Where are the put in points on the Nueces? Are there any? Again super post. Thanks Curtis for the reply. The Nueces has several public put in points. The 155 bridge is one. There is another on Ranch Road and Chalk Bluff has a ten dollar put in fee.

Will be fishing there next spring!

Great pictures and a very good post Chuck! Looks like you made some new friends. Living in God's country for sure. What other rivers are close by in that general area?

Thanks Gitter for the reply! There are three rivers in the Nueces Canyon. The Frio, Nueces, and West Nueces. The Sabinal River(not in the canyon), is just to the east and about an hour away.
