this is what I told my bone head son the other day.

Boy you don't have problems, you create them.

He asked, what the H does that mean?

I said when you figure it out you'll have a whole lot less problems.

A very self-important college freshman was attending a recent football game. He took it upon himself to explain to a senior citizen sitting next to him why it was impossible for the older generation to understand his generation.

"You grew up in a different world, actually an almost primitive one," the student said, loud enough for many of those nearby to hear. "The young people of today grew up with television, jet planes, space travel, man walking on the moon, our spaceships have visited Mars. We have nuclear energy, electric and hydrogen cars, computers with light-speed processing, and....," pausing to take another drink of beer.

The Senior took advantage of the break in the student's litany and said, "You're right, son. We didn't have those things when we were young .... so we invented them. Now, you arrogant little shithead, what are you doing for the next generation?"

The applause was deafening.

A good rule of angling philosophy is not to interfere with another fisherman's ways of being happy, unless you want to be hated.

I've had my brain scanned a few times due to a seizure; the neurologist said I have a "superior" brain. I responded by asking, "so you're saying I have an above average brain?" Her response was, "No, that would be selling yourself short, it is superior."

With that said, I drank a lot in college and flunked out from missing class too much.

I should have accomplished much more in my 31 years of life tHan i have. Still plenty of time though.

Oh, and I can do a rubik's cube in less than 4 minutes.

This is something I've struggled a lot with. I've always felt like I was pretty smart. Then I started going to lunch or meetings with guys that are pretty high up in oil companies or chemical companies. Most all have engineer backgrounds. I feel like a fish out of water. Mostly keep my mouth shut until the conversation goes to hunting, fishing, or something else I might have a clue about.

Lots of smart people around in their own ways. Never underestimate any of them.

Sometimes I really do know I'm the smartest guy in the room.

... but it doesn't happen very often.

There is no such thing as the smartest guy in the room. Just as there is no such thing as the dumbest guy in the roon. Both are nothing more than a MYTH created to bolster ones EGO!
