Posted on this last week. Thanks for all the advice.
Back in Clay Bay early this AM. Quiet for a bit, then the fish really turned on. Flying Shad, jumping bass...it was something to see.
I saw bass cruising. I would conservatively guess 150 or more. Schools of 3/4 to 1lb bass of 20 fish. Bigger fish in three or four fish groups. They were feeding. Actively.
Sis threw minnows....only got one good strike but missed him. I had a couple of hit...no fish.
Here's what I threw at them. Shad Rap 5 and smaller Shad rap. Weightless fluke....in Pearl. Larger and smaller. Square bill crank bait. Senko Kastmaster, small and large Rooster tail Tiny swim bait (match the hatch type)
Now I am begging for help. Many times when fishing is slow I think to myself they are not where I am fishing...or that they are not feeding. Today, I knew they were there. I watched them feed.
What should I try next. I am thinking that maybe I should try smaller, perhaps even ultra lite stuff.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts...and NO, I am not giving up fishing.

I have luck with spooks and poppers in that situation. Agree You threw all the right stuff large and small. The one thing in common with what you threw is that they are all middle of the water column. If they don't bite a rooster tail or a swim bait or a shad rap, my guess is they were topwater feeding. I probably would have tried spinner bait just below the surface and a lipless also The weightless fluke on line that floats can be fished as a topwater Depending on the water clarity and wind, I'd try a buzz bait, popper, walking bait, or prop bait

These fish were in six feet of water or less...mostly less. Fish were very clearly visible in water with about three feet of visibility. Flukes were fished weightless. I tried a five inch ribbed swim sit, and the smaller fluke. The small Shad rap is a floating bait. I varied retrieves....from ripped, to just sit, move a foot or two sit. Repeat.
I am almost ready for blasting caps.

90 size sammy in ghost minnow walked as fast as you can walk it. I've had a lot of success doing this on schooling fish in the summer. Yellow magic would also be a good option.
You could also try a "launcher" with a 12-18 inch leader and a small pet spoon behind it. Looks goofy and people may think you are throwing a popping cork, but it is deadly on summer schoolies if they are on microbait.

What size line are you using? Maybe try using light line.

Change the color of ur fluke to watermelon seed the white is too close and not the right size but the watermelon color will look like a small bream and be different.

Make sure you back off on them a little bit. You may be too close for that kind of water clarity.
Try a drop shot with a robo-worm alive shad.
Try carolina rigging your fluke.

Try a wake bait. I've had pretty good luck with em when they were short striking top water lures. Vary the retrieve from steady to erratic.

PH, I have seen the same thing many times. Super fluke should get you bit but were you fishing it slow? I have seen it a lot that they want it fished so fast it is almost skipping across the water. Came across this by accident one day. Fish were schooling everywhere but wouldn't touch anything. I too was throwing a fluke and they would just swim right by it. Some fish blew up on the other side of the boat and I started reeling the fluke back as fast as I could so I could get it in the school and it got blasted as that fluke was skipping across the top. I started working the fluke as fast as I could almost trying to keep it from getting wet and had some of the biggest strikes ever. Also try burning a chrome rattle trap or cotton cordell gay blade in chrome/blue is the baddest schooling bait made and you can chunk it a mile.
