And if youre using the eyes you have laying around as good enough, which I have many times, you might try painting the eye socket black to help mask the smaller eye.

Not really a Mardi Gras sunfish, but pretty close. This DDRT 2.5 shad pattern is a spin off of an old Mann's pattern that use to slay the bass. I've been fishing it all season.... with good results. Its a good pattern to throw when the bass aren't real aggressive...for some reason they react to it?? Lots of back hook and light hits on this one. Still a work in progress, but promising.
