Planning a trip to RC over Labor Day weekend and checking to see if there are any consistent pattern that have been seen with the sand bass. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Not much newsworthy in the past week. We conducted six trips last week and Adam fished yesterday. Average catch was 20-30 Sandies and then we switched to Catfish and did well. Couple of days of top water schooling on the Flats but 95% of them were 6" fish. I wouldn't recommend a Kid trip unless you're fishing for Catfish as the Sandies have once again got tougher than nails. Good Luck and maybe they will turn on for the Holidays!

I have not been out much in the past 3 weeks. We did manage a trip Sunday. There are a few hybrids scattered on the main points, primarily the large point off 309 flats and wind sock. Drifting live bait is the best way to get bit right now. The fish are really scattered. We did not specifically target sandbass but in our search for hybrids we sure didn't mark many in the main lake area. The few whites we did see on the main lake were around pelican island.
Catfish are everywhere. All the main lake points are covered. 15ft of water to 40ft of water. We were using cut shad but I suspect prepared bait would work just as well right now. Our larger catfish came from deep water, 37ft to 38ft. We had 2 fish over 10lbs and multiple in the 5-6lb range. If you get into a bunch of small catfish, move around a little bit until you find the larger fish.

I was out today. Fished Pelican Island and caught a nice 24" hybrid in 38' of water on a 2 ounce silver slab. Caught about 10 white bass all about 16". Moved to the south shore line around the mouth a the coves and picked up a 22" hybrid and a few more keeper whites. Water temp was 83.8 degrees. Nice to see more fishing moving around. Little bit of scattered topwater action on the whole lake but still scattered and not lasting nearly as long as we would like.

We did have some pretty good luck today. Weather was nice and lake was calm. We ended up with 15 whites, a couple were 16"+, and a 20" Hybrid. I hooked up several doubles. It was a good day. Caught fish in 23 FOW on main lake points near creeks. Tomorrow we are fishing down at Belton Lake visiting my Dad, have never been on the lake but gonna give it a go. Good luck!

Today proved to be a tough day. Tried all major points fished 14-24 ft of water. Managed a few small sandies and one keeper. Moved around a lot and struck out. Will be out early and plan to check out south shore line Ferguson area as we sis see some schooling fish late morning but didn't stay long. Hopefully they will concentrate and we can cash in. Would love to hear any Sunday reports.

We're doing only Catfishing the past few days and again today. This time of year can be too challenging for the White Bass but the Cats just keep on biting!
Haven't talked too or heard about anyone having any good trips since Monday week ago when Adam put together a nice box of Sandies on the Dogleg.
Good Luck!

Good Luck! The good news is the bite on RC lasted longer into summer than the past few years. The lake is headed back in the right direction. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we may actually have a fall bite this year.
