I saw Bass U. Is it worth the money to learn and could a 15 yr old understand it

I wasn't too impressed

Probably would be good for a young, early career fisherman to watch some of their lessons.

For the experienced fisherman, maybe not.

I think they have some good seminars on there for sure.

That is what "most" everyone on the TFF will tell you....... or has in the past.

This forum is going to give you access to more than enough information for someone early into bass fishing. Also gives you access to plenty of folks with a wealth of knowledge to teach/share. Alot of them are willing to take youngsters out on the water and show them some first hand stuff. Like stated above, time on the water is paramount..however, time on the water with a more seasoned skilled angler can trim the learning curve substantially.

Yes it would be worth it for a beginner. Anything he could watch or find to read will help

Beginner Stuff

I went to three of them. Learned a little, met some great people. I appreciate the fact that the presenters need to pimp their sponsor's products, but when I had heard too many sales pitches I have not been back.

As to high school and younger, they get to eat lunch with the pros one of the two days. Like him or not, Ike is great with the kids.

Ike is very supportive of younger anglers. I watched his seminar at bass fest and he answered all the kids questions and hooked them up with baits. He even went so far as to give a kid who had a tournament on Texoma that next week his exact bag of plastics he was using to get his nice finish. Good guy.

As far as BassU goes, I think it's very helpful information to just about anyone. And at 100 dollars a year to watch it whenever, I feel like that's a pretty good deal for the amount of information you are getting and the ability to watch whenever you like.

Let me use the most overrated statement ever, "slow down and down size".... There, now we are all professionals.

I'm not to proud to call myself a beginner. I have learned some stuff. Go watch Brandon Palaniuk's presentation on the percentage triangles and off shore fishing... But I read every book I can find and I am fascinated with trying to figure out big fish

I like it and think for the money it's worth it

Look at the pro tour schedule, pick a lake ahead off time, make yourself a plan how you would fish and were, consider, time off year, weather, lake age, water level, map info etc. and see what the pros are doing. You will learn more in four days than in many years. I found out that catching fish is not hard but requires a great deal more detail than I had been putting into it the boat position in relationship to target is critical, lure presentation to target, balance, fall rate, color, line size and hook and lure size etc really surprised me. Pros catch lots off fish at the same community holes everyone else fish hit or miss. Children can catch active feeding bass. A lot off time can be wasted looking for a school off feeding fish at just the right time. I frequently still force myself to figure out a bite when no bite appears to be happening. We drive over thousands off fish on the way to that magic feeding bite. Then we cast blindly and hope for the best, pros know were the fish are set up and get the lure in the strike zone while this sounds easy and does not require great physical skill, mastering the mental aspect off it is a great game,You tube can be outstanding, try picking a technic and study it till you understand it then pick another one. Learning is 80% visual and a young set off eyes watching a pro picks up a great deal of info, resist chasing different fishermen, stick with one stick at a time . A swimming pool is a great place to spend time seeing what happens underwater at what speed. learning electronic use is critical in todays world and a young man would be way ahead to start learning everything the great equipment give us, probably the least used and most important tool on every boat. A great idea would be to master a hds unit as good as a phone, good luck god bless

Went a few years ago, Ike, G-man and a few others. I thought it was a good time and worth the money. g-man had a rubber band on his wrist and someone asked about it and he explaned it was his PMA band. he asked if we wanted to learn about fishing and tips or the worst year of fishing/life and how he bounced back and it changed him. taking a vote the class decided we wanted to hear more than about that then fishing. I feel I personaly took more from that and his outlook on staying positive in life when it knocks you down was worth the money alone.
