Looking for a shop in The Terrell?Kaufman/Forney/Mabank area that knows how to troubleshoot steering issues without just throwing parts at it until they get lucky.
I have a '99 Suburban C1500 2wd 1/2ton. There is a large dead spot the the steering that needs to be corrected. So far I have replaced inner and outer tie rods, idler arm and idler arm bracket, pitman arm, upper a-arm bushings, upper and lower ball joints, and the steering box (twice). Dead spot has gotten slightly better, but is still there and makes it a PITA to drive. I have no idea what the problem is and need someone who knows more about front ends than how to read the manual on their alignment rack.
This truck does have the infamous EVO steering feature on it, but it doesn't seem to suffer from the problems commonly associated with that system. Plus, I cannot find any info that suggests the EVO feature would be causing my particular problem.
Anyway, I need this fixed, as this is one of the last problems I need to get correct to make this a nice drivable vehicle again. I never would have bought it had I known I would have so much trouble figuring this problem out, but I am invested now and need to get it corrected.
But like I said, I don't need someone who's going to start throwing parts at it on my dime. I've done that as you can see from the list of parts replaced on it so far, which is basically everything. I want someone who understands these steering systems and can actually troubleshoot the problem.
Thanks, Jay

Replaced it already too. Forgot to list it above.
Mine's not really exibiting the symptons associated with a bad evo sensor, but I replaced it anyway to be comprehensive. About the only thing I haven't done is the ev delete kit and the rag joint. I can't find anything wrong with the rag joint so I haven't replaced it.

Sounds like the only thing left to replace is the power steering pump.
