This afternoon while fishing near the dam on the main lake Don and I saw what looked like a beaver swimming in the distance. I noticed something ahead of it about 18" moving along with it. As we watched something broke the surface about 8' behind it, like a black stick or snake. We decided to get closer to see what it was. When we got within about 50' we realized it was an alligator, a really big alligator. Head was about a foot across and total length was about 10'. Don was videoing it with his phone. We were about 20' away when it spooked and dove out of sight. Never saw it again. If the video turns out I will post it.
Wouldn't have been surprised to see it up a creek or the river but down by the dam???

It's real then.....a buddy showed me a photo Sunday that one of the construction guys took and I was a little skeptical but you are a second independent source confirming its presence.

Those things are turning up everywhere this year. Most have something to do with all the rain we've gotten. On a side note, I was in the back waters of Caddo a few days ago and didn't see any. They must have all moved west.

There are two more just like the one you saw spotted at the dam basin just on the river side.

Yep, pretty big one for Lake Lewisville. It was down by the dam where the COE is repairing the earth. I'm trying to figure out how to edit it and make it a smaller file. If someone knows an easy way - without spending money - let me know. It looked to be about ten feet long!

We got flagged down about three weeks ago by one of the workers who pointed it out to us. He said he sees it often just cruising along that bank area. I would like to get some good video/pictures of it.

That's CRAZY! I haven't been able to get Belinda to swim in the lake since Swamp People started airing, she reads this and all hope is lost
