9.5 at sqauw on a tree we threw at 100 times. Broke my pb twice that day. Had another pushing 9 if it wasn't 9. 100 casts? That must have given you anxiety fishing that slow! is that y'all's 29lb day? HAHA. Yea it was. We stayed there all day and caught it in the last 20 minutes. Awesome day for sure. Days like that are what keeps us coming back. No doubt! That was one of my funnest days fishing. We caught a ton of fish also. I remember yall smashing 32 lbs next fall.

Just got my "new-to-me" boat, and launched it on Grapevine late in October, my maiden voyage. Went out along the rip-rap by the spillway, and after trying crankbaits, I thought I'd try a Zara Spook, as it seems to work for me in situations when other things don't. A few casts later, I knew from seeing it hitting the spook on top that I had a nice fish. Took my time with it, and got it in. It was the biggest fish I ever personally saw on the water. I was alone, I had no tape measure, no ruler, no camera, nothing to document it or measure it. Cr*p! No one else was even fishing on the lake, except a boat over by the aerators. Heck, I didn't even have numbers on the boat yet. So I measured it to an exact point of reference on the carpet. I put it in the livewell intending to get it to the guys in the boat by the aerators. But its tail was curved around the back of the livewell, and its nose was pushed up in the corner. Didn't want to transport it all scrunched up in there, so I pulled it out, set it in the water, and watched it swim away. I went home that morning, and measured my points on the carpet, and found out it was just shy of 26 inches. Never got the girth so couldn't estimate the weight. Biggest fish so far, though, and probably forever.

Fishing Fayette County in about 8 ft. Cast my T rig blue fleck power worm toward one of my favorite areas. I big group of trees that makes a point. Didn't get close enough to the sweet spot so I feel it back in and cast farther and hit right at the base of the tree. Feel a bump and set the hook. She came to the top quick and I knew it was big. Has my nephew in the boat and he was maybe 10. Asked him frantically to dig the net out of the storage. 9lb 6 oz.

I was working a S-bend in a creek channel three days before Thanksgiving. It was late afternoon. There was one other boat on the lake. The fish were keying on schools of shad that were beginning to die off with the cooler temps. I was sweeping a slab / spoon off the edge of the channel. The first one weighed about 3.5. The second was 12 lbs. 3 oz. The next cast caught an 8.

On my second cast on April Fools' Day, 2015, using a black/blue flake Ribbit parallel to a spawning area, a 10-01 attacked the frog. Great fight with 2 jumps and 2 deep dives under my boat.

After watching an episode of Fox Southwest Outdoors Report on Lake Somerville, I recognized the area where Barry was fishing and had some of the same crankbaits he was using in the show. I decided to head out to the lake and see if I could duplicate his results. Barry hooked two good fish over 5 lbs and landed one a strike king series 4 crankbait. I was fishing by myself and headed to the same area I saw Barry in the show, I thought I hung my crankbait in the chunk rock off the island but quickly realized my line was moving. I landed an eight ponder and put her in the livewell while I tried to calm myself down. I found another boat nearby to take a picture of the fish and returned her to the water. I entered the picture into the Costa catch of the week, several weeks later I saw my picture on air. Winner, Costa catch of the week!

Caught my 10.49 on Sardis lake in SE OK last October prefishing for a tournament. Luckily I still ended up winning but didn't have big bass lol. I was throwing a chatterbait in the grass and she hit on the outside edge right next to the boat. Didn't even have a hook in her either! She somehow was stuck to the swivel thing on the blade but I had to get the pliers out to get it off. You can see in the picture and the hook is just dangling
