It has a 6GB/S transfer rate but the drive only spins at 5400 RPM

The rpm is less important than the fact that it is optimized for recording a video stream 24/7. Not random access of files the way a typical computer hard drive is. Somebody that didn't know what they were doing took the cheap way out.

Fine. I needed some extra cash, and I may have made a few mistakes with rebuilding that guys computer.

Give it a rest already.

Not quite as bad as a tape drive but that is kind of the idea.

Yeah when I build my next personal rig I'll be putting in an SSD. Running off a 3 year old rig and back then SSD wasn't as reliable yet.

I thought I was going to have to wave the !Help! flag the other day. I retrieved my laptop from my son and the screen was upside down. WTF! He swears he did nothing to change it.

I was really appreciative it is a touch screen laptop because it would have been extremely hard to wander around trying to find what I needed to do to fix it. I did go to the screen/display preferences in control panel. First I tried rotating it but it would not rotate 180 degrees to get the correct orientation. Then the rotate option went away. It flat disappeared. I wandered to a place where it had four choices for screen orientation and check marked was landscape flipped. I attempted to change it to landscape twice before it finally took it and corrected the screen orientation.

I still have no idea why the screen flipped around but I was proud I could find where to go and what to do to fix it.
