Just got a Garmin 94sv unit and was wondering if any of y'all use the sidevu for reef or well fishing in the bays? Should be heading down next week to do some fishing around Rockport and wanted to know if that was a viable option given the fish being in deeper water this time of year.

In four feet of water, how much do you think you'll see? Waste of time.

That's an ignorant response. Humminbird units are the best shallow water side scan, far superior to lowrance in that regard. I do not know how Garmin ranks for shallow water side scan. Humminbird can easily show reefs on side scan 100+ ft on either side of the boat in 3 ft of water. Also the red/green color pallet shows hard bottom(reefs) with ease.

I can scan 60' on either side in 2' of water and still mark fish with my HDS. You don't have near as much clarity as you would in deeper water, but it will still show structure and fish.

Ok fine, you all go wandering around the bay and show the results.
