I need help on figuring out what brand of braid to use. I'm going to be pitching it into heavy cover and i need muscle to pull fish out. I was thinking of the Suffix Performance Braid or Stren Super Braid. Also i need help choosing some backing.
Thanks
Dusty

I switched from Stren Super Braid to Power Pro and so far I have really liked it.

I use 65lb Power Pro. It works well for me. As far as backing, I just use whatever mono Ive got laying around.

I use 50 Lb Power Pro and bait casters and 10 Lb on spinning reel and really like it. As far as backing I use the Cajun Red I had bought to try, found out that backing is all it is good for. Thought about trying to sell the Cajun red to the kids Christmas as a slinky.

I used to use Stren Superbraid but then I switched to Sufix and I like it a lot better.
It's smoother tougher and thinner.

I really like the Sufix performance braid. I've had no trouble with it so far.

There is no doubt in my mind that the best is Izorline. They are the originators of braided line. They dye each denier strand before it is braided on their green, and it maintains its color better than most also, most of the others either dip and dye the whole braid or wax the color on. You don't need backing on new wiffle spool reels, and also don't use backing on any other baitcasters, is my recommendations. Just put a little piece of double sided tape on the spool, and fill it up with braid, then in about 2 years unspool it and reverse it on the spool, it will never spin on the spool with this piece of tape on it. I've had the same Izorline on a reel that I still use for C-Rigging over 15 years now by doing this, it is white, but I don't care, I use a 4-7 foot leader on this one. Never needed anything larger than 50# either. I've used most out there and feel it is the strongest and best. Their 50# is stronger than most others 65# and 80#. Hard to find tho.
