Yeah, this was as close as possible to being completely sober. I think allowing myself the idea of being able to have a drink is what helps me with not drinking. As if I am making it a choice to not drink because it's something I don't want to do as compared to something I have to do.

I don't know if that makes sense but it makes me happier with the decision and lifestyle I'm living now.

I quit that and smoking in Aug of 79'. Cold Turkey...With the Grace of God I made it and never looked back. I found out that I could LIVE with out it. Kudos to the folks here that helped you along the way. Congrats and keep up the good work. You will never regret it.

I quit for 11 solid years. started back a little at a time. I set my limits. But sometimes have to pull back the reigns when I see it getting out of hand. I know where you're coming from. Its a daily struggle for me either way. Stay strong and surround yourself with the right people. That's what makes a difference for me.


Just want to make folks smile, and spit coffee on their keyboard.

God doesn't create temporary people, you will spend eternity somewhere. Choose wisely.

Do you get the shakes? If I don't have a couple beers by about one in the afternoon I get to shaky to function.
