Who's going to be getting one on their bass boat? What's the cons with the new design? If any?

I want to see one in person and figure out exactly how it works before i commit. I have an iPilot Terrova that has been wonderful but the new Ultrex may solve two issues I have with the Terrova. 1. Launch and stow appear to be much easier with the Ultrex. 2. It is supposed to come with the improved SpotLock.
Assuming these two features are really improvements I'll upgrade AFTER the Ultrex has been out for 6-8 months.

I have a Terrova with an iPilot Link, and there's a whole lot that I love about it. But the deploy and stow methods are terrible. Personally, I don't need cable steer, but I do not understand how they managed to make the response time to the steering mechanism so slow. That second to respond to a left or right command is ridiculous. I am going to really be chapped if Minn Kota doesn't give us some sort of upgrade path.

Every day above ground is a good day... A day on the water; even better.

Ultrex stows just like the fortrex since it is a similar mount. It looked like Scott Mating had one on his boat this weekend.

An upgrade would be almost impossible on the steering since it would take an upgraded motor in the bracket. As far as stow and deploy get an Ulterra. It stows and deploys with the push of a button. I have one. It also trims up and down with the push of a button. and the spot lock is a lot more pinpoint.
Retirement best job ever.

IF it's what they say it is I will have one. I would rather have that trolling motor over talons if it performs like they say it will.

I wish it was out now. I want to buy a used terrova from someone upgrading unfortunately I am impatient and probably won't wait until then.

Sounds like the perfect trolling motor to me. I have a three month old Fortrex and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't super interested in the Ultrex. Sure I run the banks in the spring and the fall, but I spend almost all summer and winter sitting on deep offshore structure and it would be so nice if I could just hit a button and the boat stays in place while I rig tackle, unhook fish, etc.
Cable steer motor with Spot Lock, OH MY!
I will probably get one more sooner than later if the funds allow for it.

Brett Hite was using one at the Classic Bracket. IF you have footage you should check it out.
