Im not against the fairywand but I only use it for light shakeyheads(1/16, 1/8oz). I consider myself a power finesse guy and my favorite technique is a 1/4 or 5/16 oz shakeyhead. Last night the rod I had been using broke on a hookset. It was a rather cheapy rod but one I somewhat liked. Curious what are some of you power finesse guys favorite baitcasting shakeyhead rod? Thanks in advance

I use a Falcon 7' 4 action. Like a FC-4-7 . It is like a medium action but enough backbone you can set the hook

G. Loomis Shaky Head Rod If you're really into shaky head fishing then check these out. I personally own one, as a shaky head is a big part of my arsenal, and I love these rods. They are a bit pricey but they're perfectly balanced and are considerably lightweight. Another good plus about this rod is that it would pull double duty for a good drop shot rod. Dobyns Fury If you're not into paying $255 then check out the Fury FR 702SF. These rods are decent rods for the price and will get the job done easily.

You might consider the Megabass Levante Diablo Spec-R. I throw weightless wacky rigs on mine so I'm sure it would work for the heavier Shaky Heads you are throwing.

I like the Falcon Cara finesse jig. The weightless worm will work too.

Thanks for everyone's input! After looking at a lot of rods from Envy to Dobyn's from power tackle to falcon I decided on the 733C Dobyn's Fury! It had the backbone I wanted with a fast enough tip! Most of the other rods had to much bend between the 1st and 3rd guide for the hooksets I "deliver" to these fish lol. I've been a duckett guy but tired of the weak guides... Believe I'm about to start making the switch to the fury line!

+ 1 on the Falcon Cara Finesse rod. I have a weightless worm rod and and much prefer the Finesse rod for the shakey head.
