Looking for some suggestions for a new dropshot spinning rod. The one I have is functional but isn't really the best action. I am partial to Falcon rods. I liked the new Lowrider but don't really want to spend $170. Anyone tried the BuCoo version?

ReelTime Rods at Fork has a good rod on a BuCoo blank (I Think), works great, nice and sensitive!
Thanks for The correction, I always get those two mixed up.

ReelTime Rods at Fork has a good rod on a BuCoo blank (I Think), works great, nice and sensitive! Reel Time rods are built on a Bushido blank. They have a custom built drop shot rod for $129 out the door and has a lifetime warranty. This is the best drop shot rod you will ever find for that price.

Daiwa Laguna 6'6" Medium Light Action. It's $79 and I like it better than any other rod I've used.

I'd say the Abu Garcia Vendetta rod would get my vote. I have several of them and for $80 they work great! The one I'd suggest for drop shotting is the 6'9" Medium Light rod. MODEL # VNTS692-4. They also have a 7' Medium action if you want a little more back bone.

Take a look at the new Dobyns Fury series, FR702SF (med. light) or FR703SF (med.) At $109.99 they're only a little over your price point but a great rod for the money

Vendetta in medium is what I use--happy with it. The medium enables you to drop shot heavier cover that the medium light, but for open water, the medium light would be better.

Falcon Bucoo I highly recommend you try one of these rods. You mentioned the Bucoo's in your post and I think you should go with one. These rods are incredible for only being $100. They're super lightweight, sensitive, and have enough power to play big fish. I think you'll be happy with one.

There's a few things that makes a good drop shot rod. You want a rod that is light, has great sensibility, balance, a fast tip, one that loads up just in the right area of the rod and has the strength to get after a big one if you hang one. There's several Lake Fork guides that have sponsorships with different rod company's but I know quite a few that use Reel Times drop shot rod only. Should tell you something.
