Day one is under way now on Green River Lake in Kentucky. There are quite a few teams from Texas schools including Lamar, Dallas Baptist, Tarleton State, and Texas A&M. Josh Bensema and his new partner, Tyler Anderson, of Texas A&M look to defend his National Championship from last year. The top four teams will split up and fish against each other in the College Classic Bracket on Kentucky Lake. The winner of the bracket will be fishing in the Classic on Conroe this March. Tune in at 3:00 PM eastern for the day one weigh-in! Gig'Em! 2016 College Series National Championship

I think it's a neat idea to have everything on College campus, the meeting, feed them in dinning hall, then they stay in the dorms. That saves money for those traveling from the West coast, great move by BASS.

TX State was leading after day one. with 20 pounds and some change.
Two bags over 20 pounds weighed in. Lots of small fish brought to the scales.

Yes we are pulling for TSU Tarleton State University. My son is a senior there and we are pulling for him. However, yesterday through a curve ball at them. It poured down rain all night and all day yesterday and made the fish change from the way they practiced and it just didn't work out. However, He is the middle of the pack right now 44th place out of 89 teams and if he can duplicate today like he did in practice it could make a difference. So we are for sure going to be watching.

Weigh-in is live right now on bassmaster.com
It looks like the weights aren't as good as yesterday, but from what the anglers are saying, there are some big bags in the weigh-in line.

There's a good picture of your boy running between spots in the on the water pictures. Good looking boat!
