All open except Meadowmere Park

Can anyone confirm that Twin Coves Park/ramp is open? I just called (972) 874-6300, and they said it is still closed until sometime in 2017.

GV is the whipping boy of lakes around here. GV can safely hold a lot of water so it is the last one to be drained after any flooding. Add that to the City of GV really doesn't want the lake traffic. They lose money if the lake is open and GV controls most of the parks and ramps. GV collects millions in taxes from the airport and don't want to spend any of this money on parks clean up and policing etc. so it's probably always gonna be this way. It's all about the money.
How do you figure they are losing money when it's open? The lake is a huge source of revenue for the city with launch fees, people buying gas and other items etc. The city has been desperate to get the water down so the ramps could reopen

Lake Parks revenue is less than 1% of the total revenue for the city. Crime control and parks cleanup is almost 12% of total budget.

The huge family get togethers that certain people have on grapevine lake makes a huge mess, has the place smelling horrible and I'm sure costs the city a good bit of money to clean up.

Even with citizen volunteers that helps a lot it's still a PIA. The mess is one reason why silverlake park went private under the marina mgmt and $20 charge just to enter the park. That got rid of a bunch of problems for the south end of the dam. It is what it is.

yes the cleanup is a problem. I was on the north shore recently and there was so much trash from 4th of July. It's very sad
I wish they had the resources to police the parties while they were happening

There were work crews in every park out there today. Looked like it was all flood cleanup.

I wish they had the resources to police the parties while they were happening +1 I for one wish they would make Murrell a pay park to enter it would not eliminate the trash but I think it would eliminate some of it plus maybe the funds could be used to pay for more cleanup services. I do not understand the 3rd worlds mindset to have a good time at the lake and just leave trash everywhere.

Sand Bass point ramp was open this morning.
Fish bite sucked. Most were under sized anyway. Lake fleas were starting to get thick so I left.

The Mexicans have and continue to trash up the lake and parks. The parks smell horrible of rotting food and trash. They come out on the lake and start fires and leave trash and beer bottles all over the place. In my opinion they either need to clean up their act or stop coming out and trashing the lake. This isn't just a problem on grapevine as I've seen it on most Dfw lakes..... It needs to be addressed.
