Been going out on gvine these past few days and this is some of the best crappie fishing ive seen from the slips. Coming in with no less then 15 every day. Sandies are coming through sometimes aswell. Get out there while you can

I was just wondering how good slip fishing can be during the really hot months, good to know the fishing can get pretty good. I may check on getting a slip on Grapevine, Hubbard or Lavon....

Usually the slip fishing for Crappie isnt very good in the Summer. I think it is on Grapevine this year because of the droughts and floods over the past three years. There isn't much available cover in the lake for them to hide. Also it's a safe place from all of the constant change in water levels.

Are you fishing Silver Lake or Twin Coves? Has the bite been better in the mornings or evenings?

Summer slip fishing at Lavon is no bueno. That's a winter thing at Lavon. I had a slip out there for a few years up until last year.

I have a slip at Pope's Landing on Lake Fork and the summer fishing is great every year.Water depth is 23 ft but the crappie are normally suspended between 8-14ft.Been averaging 20 keepers each trip with a few days getting a limit.Dead during the winter months because most crappie go deep on Fork but from late February through November we do pretty well. All my fish are on jigs.
