I just either watch them or create a waypoint and have that displayed on the same view:
Helix 12 CHIRP MEGA SI+ GPS G3N and G4N, 1198c SI, SOLIX 10 SI G3, Helix 8 MEGA SI+ GPS G4N, SOLIX 12 SI and G3, MEGA 360, MEGA LIVE TL, RC-1

I do what others have said: I will mark fish on my chart with a waypoint, but I also definitely use a marker buoy. I have started fishing deep a whole lot more these last few years and I will be looking hard at the Ultrex for the spot lock capabilities.

Spot lock and use the shore line for a reference point for my casting angle. I will use marker buoys if fishing with someone else that needs a better reference point. I also let them wind it up when we are done.

Doesnt matter what I use, I suck at deep fishing! Better yet I just don't have much confidence in it. Need more time on the water, but only 24 hours in a day and 7 days in a week. Anyone who wants to show me a thing or two gas and lunch is on me... Gerade

That would be awesome I haven't fished Caney in about 10 years I'm never there except for deer season anymore, hard to get over there with the kids in all the sports now. My little trailer on the lake has sure been neglected the past 2-3 years. Just has a guy fix the ac about 2 months ago so I need to go see how it's working.

Guys we can take my boat and gas, I got a secert little lake that will build confidence in fishing offshore faster than anywhere else you can go. Should have the boat ready to go out there mid week.
