This will be interesting. I'm sure B.A.S.S. logic will be this event has no impact on AOY points. However, if B. Hite were to stumble late and miss the Classic, this could be huge. And yes, Greg was pizzzzed about his DQ so I'm sure this is going to add fuel to the fire.

I'm sure Hackney will have something to say about this!! The BASS Angler Code of Conduct will prevent Hackney from saying much unless he is willing to pay the fine or is "granted" permission to post something on Bassmaster.com. Greg would also pizzz off Strike King so it is not going to happen.

So is it bogus that Hackey gets his full catch for the day removed but KVD won't?
Still waiting to hear what the penalty is.
Seems like this tourney has it's own set of rules. And they change them in the middle of the game... this one was a big time fail by BASS IMO.

They just said on the live stream that the rule states that they "must disqualify one or more fish" for fishing in the off-limits area. So I guess since they saw him catch the one fish, then they were able to directly disqualify that weight.

You would think that the tournament director would be able to make an on the spot call on this ruling. This is just poor results from a great bracket fishing concept. Come on BASS get it together!

I think the big difference is, what hackney did was breaking a state law about fishing in a marina. Vandam just fished past a BASS set boundary.

That is bush league. They might has well have just given KVD the trophy and saved everyone else the drive. Switching to MLF style on the last day and then not DQ'ing his entire weight for fishing in an off-limits. Bad form. If I was Hackney and Hite, I'd be pissed.

Pretty sure per BASS rules any rule breakage qualifies for a DQ whether it's state or just BASS rule. To me this is total b.s. but this falls under the "special tournament" qualification. Kinda ridiclous though to have different rules for different tournaments.
