Pat Small does it again on Lake Whitney this morning. We had our three person limit in 35 minutes!!! No joke, we left the marina at 7 and had our limit at 7:35. This was my 3rd trip with him over the last couple years and its been a fantastic trip every time. Thanks again Pat.

Sounds like a great summer morning! Was there any top water action or just live bait?

It was live bait this time around. I'm really looking forward to some fall top water action.

Went out today and got a couple of sandies and one small striper. Saw sandies surfacing near the dam and couldn't seem to get them to bite by throwing rattle traps, lil George's, top waters and sassy shads...anyone have any ideas for catching them besides live bait? Anyone have some better action?

Happy to read this. I have been looking into booking a trip on Whitney and had pretty much settled on Pat, and this post just confirms I had made the right choice.

Fish wrangler, I've had pretty good results on small castmaster slabs on the top water bite. The sandies are eating small shad right now. One of my buddies threw a trap to no avail while we killed em on the little slabs last week.

Buddy and I fished Sat eve and boated about 20 stripers over by the entrance to state park cove. Biggest was 27 in. I went yesterday eve and got 10 near the island. With the wind shifting the fish were moving. They were holding on the top of ridges and down wind of them. Deep diving cranks. flutter spoons and a rigs both days. Also saw whites schooling but didnt bother w them. Threw big baits under them for stripes. Lost one looked close to 30in near the boat but oh well. Check wind blown points and ridges from 16-30 ft and they will b there
