Hard to say really, Texas is blessed with many great crappie lakes. But any lake that has a decent population and has continued flooded banks for a productive spawn and shad spawns is going to be good. I have seen that here in New Mexico at Elephant Butte. This year no water, so we will see the effect next year. I would guess that East Texas lakes are going to be strong for a few years. I have a place on a lake in East Texas and the fishing is definitely better, but I have only fished there since 2004.

I would say Lake O The Pines. It fishes pretty consistent too. During the winter, you will easily see 100 boats fishing around the dam.

Everybody has their favorites, but for consistent, broad shoulder crappie action, Cedar Creek is very hard to beat.Spring and Fall, they seem to be everywhere, Summer, boat docks and bridges are loaded, Winter, creeks are harboring healthy populations. CC has the cover and structure, and the crappie population is healthy.

I'd vote Pines or Murvaul. Both are solid crappie lakes. Those are they only two I've really spent any time crappie fishing on though, so take my vote for what it's worth.

I say the best lake in Texas for crappie is the one you can get out to easily and catch them at! That will always be the best lake if you are catching! As for the real crappie lake, toss up but north east Texas is the area to fish.

For me it's Ray Roberts and then Lake Lewisville. Reasons for those lakes cause I have fished them many times and had a lot of limits and good sizes. I started off at Lewisville and over the years I migrated to Ray Roberts to avoid crowds. Good luck everyone..

I don't know the guide for 3N, but based on his reports, Lake Murvaul looks pretty solid.
