I was fishing for sandies on Lake Arlington during the spawn and caught several nice "magnum" sized sandbass. That being said, I never can locate any real schools on the main lake during the remainder of the year. I have never seen any topwater feeding on the lake either.
Unfortunately it is the closest lake to me and is "safer" than Joe Pool on the weekends. I have been taking my son out to Granbury as I can find them out there fairly consistently and it keeps him interested, but its an hour away.
Anyone ever have any luck out there on the open water?

Troy, I haven't seen any top water action yet this year. In past years I have caught them on top here and there and located the schools that way and then followed them around with a slab or such. BTW - been a member for a long time but just don't post. However, I've been looking for a thread about Lake Arlington and decided to break my silence.

Lake Arlington can be tough. Trolling hell-pet rigs will put a few in the boat for you.
