Im headed out to choke this weekend, Hopefully the fishing has turned on a bit with the warm weather, its been 75 or above every day this week. Im going sunday and hope the fish have started to hit teh secondary points and maybe move a bit into the coves? Any ideas, would it be too early for this to happen?

Have not been in 3-4 weeks, let us know how you do. The water was really cold 3 weeks ago, but it has been warm lately...

Good luck

Fished choke Wednesday and found 6 females and about 10 males. Females hit a white spinner bait early up at the mouth of kitchen. The males came from points with rocks and stickups on them. Fished all day and only boated 16. Better then the zero I got last week.

Give her another two weeks and she will be ripe.

Supposed to be another front in on Saturday.

Well, I got a wild hair and went back to choke and fish some more. After I read Pitchin's post I had to give it another shot. I also got my prop back at 10:30 last night and I wanted to try it out before I head to Falcon next week.

I didn't get started til 9:30 (drop kids off at school) and left at 1 (to pick kids up from school) and I managed 17 by myself. The biggest was close to 6 with four or five of them in the 3 to 4 pound range.

It was a great day to be on the lake!

I found my buddy and he took some pictures of the fish. He took one of the 6+, but it is in HIS camera.

He also caught some good fish and I will let him make his own post.

My boys and I were going back to fish this morning, but the wind was up and blowing at 5am. Decided to stay home and hang out. I bet there are 3 to 4 footers breaking out there today.

If I didn't have to work tomorrow I would try the river at 99. Start in the backs of any creeks you can find. Run up San Miguel and work a WHITE spinner bait on the edges SLOW.
