Was on the phone with the wife while fishing and saw movement. A 18" water snake had joined me. Don 't know when or how but it's in the boat. Tried to catch it but it got into one of the many places in a boat where it can hide.

Does anyone have a suggestion about how to catch it? The wife would go with burning the boat but I want something a little less radical. All help is appreciated!

Mouse on a string. Wait for the snake.

House fogger for bugs. Open all hatches and disconnect battery first. Or just let it get out by itself.

How big is it? If not too big, sticky mouse traps will get him. Put them where he'll have to crawl over and get stuck but they'll need to be secured down with something. If you can get to it, get snake tongs to reach in and grab him. Animal control might help you out with that. Blow some smoke up in the area and it might scare him out

When he gets hungry, he'll leave but that can take awhile and you'll never know.

put some popcorn in the boat to eat, when the snake get thirsty and leaves for a beer,
grab him...

Put the boat out in the sun for a few days, he'll get hot and leave.

If you don't see the snake removed you will always think a snake is in the boat! You also don't want the snake to die in a location of the boat you can't get to because you will never get the smell to go away. I vote a large rat trap and put a dead mouse on it from a pet store. May take a few nights, but eventually you will get him. Just hope a neighborhood cat doesn't come first. Good luck!

Go to Home Depot, buy some "Snake Away" and sprinkle it in the various compartments.

Just name it. It's a pet now.
