Just looking for suggestions on your favorite deep diving CB rod. Been throwing 8XDs, 10XD's, Duo Realis DD, Manns DD, etc.. I have a Ducket Ghost, 7'6" MH CB rod and it is doing the job, I caught an 8.5 lbr last night, but I would like more sensitivity. I feel like I can only really feel the bottom when I am pulling hard and almost dredging the bait, I have caught most of them when I know I'm on the bottom and then either pull on the rod or stop/pause, etc.. But I would like a rod that really gives better feedback when bumping structure.
Your opinions won't offend me, so let them fly! lol

Hey Slade,
What type of line are you using? I guess I'm surprised to hear you want MORE sensitivity than the Ducket 7'6" MH cranking is giving you.

Pretty sure, if your using that deep divers, you need a heavy backbone on what ever brand of rod your comfortable with. Almost a 'broomstick'.... JMO

Hey Slade,
What type of line are you using? I guess I'm surprised to hear you want MORE sensitivity than the Ducket 7'6" MH graphite is giving you. 12# Invisix Floro I have a few jig/worm rods that I can feel every little branch of a bush, and I have some other pretty good ones that are good but not like the best ones I have. I don't expect the same level of sensitivity as I have with my GLX or Power Tackle rods when dragging the bottom but I know there has to be something better than what I am using.

I agree with the Dobyns CB RM 805 rod. If you are more into cranking the 10XD or such, you might want to go to the 806 rod. Both will do the job handsomely, but the 806 is built more for the 10XD lures. The rating on the 805 CB RM is from 3/8 to 1.5 oz. Line from 10-20 lb test. So, it covers MOST of what you are throwing, but if you are emphasizing the 10XD, the 806 would be better at ratings from 1/2 to 2 oz. and 10-20 lb line. It may be more what you are looking for, because it is rated to fish all the deep divers. Hope this helps. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

No such thing as best, but you should try the Duckett 7' 11" White Ice Series. I use them and they are super sensitive. The Ghost is a good rod but the White Ice is their premier rod and only $209. I also throw BIG cranks on the Power Tackle 7' 11" cranking rod and love it, but it's $389. It's no more sensitive than the Duckett White Ice. 7' 6" just isn't enough rod for the BIG cranks, IMO.
Coincidence is His way of remaining anonymous.

Went out and looked. It is a Ghost not a White Ice. It is 7'6" MH cranking rod.

How much do you plan on spending on this rod?
I say we fish 5 days a week and work 2.

One that a lot of people overlook is the Megabass Orochi XX Launcher. I can count about 6-8 people that have went out and bought one after trying mine. It is one of the rods that just "feels" right.

I have a few of the Orichi rods and I do like them. Not a fan of the hook keepers but I have had them modified.

Find someone to build you a rod on this blank: MHX XD Cranker CB968-MHX- 8'0" | 12-30 lb. | 3/4 - 2 1/2 oz. | Mod-Fast Action This is one of the tapers they got just right. I suggest the fuji K-Series guides with Alconite rings. http://www.mudhole.com/MHX-XD-Cranker-Rod-Blank-CB968-MHX

Next time you see me at Fork remind me and you can test drive the one I have and see if you like it.
