Found these 2 guys floating at Rayburn Saturday morning. I cant believe that these little bass are so aggressive that they will try to eat one almost the same size. Me and my son took the smaller one out of the other ones mouth and let them go. The one that was inside the other one had to be revived for a minute before it would swim off. Maybe I have been using to small of bait while fishing after all.

That's pretty neat! And that's cool that they both lived another day. Goes to show you that we put too much thought into a fish that doesn't have much thought after all!

I ran up on two doing this at lake fork one evening. Except they were closer to a pound a piece. Makes the 12" power worm and magnum spoons on summer ledges seem a bit less like overkill.

Fishing a Redman tournament on TB once I saw a 5lb'er that tried to eat a 3lb'er and died. Both had floated to the top. My dad use to fish in Mexico quite a bit at Don Martin lake and he caught a bass with a black bird in his mouth. Guess there is nothing they want try to eat. Wish they liked my blue fleck worm that much.

i used to keep bass in a big fish tank...you would be amazed at how many goldfish a 1lb bass can eat, it would have tails sticking out of his mouth and i'd drop another one in and he would eat it, some times in the process one would escape out of his mouth when opening it for another and it would chase it right down...it would "wobble" moving its side fins real fast trying to suspend just off the bottom, by the next morning all the tails would be down and it would be cruising the tank gut all stretched out - they are amazing !

That 18lb state record that was caught at Fork was caught by a crappie fisherman who was fishing for crappie. That bass was there for one reason. When these bass get so big they need more than a few small shad to eat, they go after crappie or bar fish. That 14lb'er I caught had a half pound crappie in his mouth with the tail still sticking out and still wanted my jig/craw worm. Veracious eating machines.
