That was a fun lake!!! Never fished it till Thursdsy afternoon and found 8-10 good spots. Stuck one close to 2 and had 3 around a pound and a half!! Caught 30-35 fish and tossed 19 in the cooler! Friday waited out the rain and went and ate breakfast and looked at new stuff and added 6-8 more spots but only managed 15 or so keepers and only 1-2 big fish were threw back. Felt good about Sat but it was a tough day. Stuck 2 good fish early and lost 2 and must have lost 50 jigs!! I broke off everywhere we went! Even got broke off in the TM 2-3 times!! Langdon caught keeper number 7 at 10:45 so that was a good feeling!! We went back through some stuff I liked Thursday and pulled one weight fish off the first spot, then 3 off the second, nothing on the third and little man dropped down and stuck big fish of the day!!! I saw the thump on the Bonehead rod and Braid and little man wasted no time setting steel into that fishes face!! He quickly hollered this is no crappie but seeing how it wasn't pulling to the side or rolling the pole like a catfish I got the net ready in anticipation. Before I was ready he was hollering Oooh!! Oooh! Haha! Slabzilla was on the surface ready to join the party in the right side of the livewell! (Right side is the strong side). Swimmers go on the left!!

He's fished long and hard this year wanting to catch a fish to weight in at a qualifier! No better way to get one than the way it happened!! So proud of my little fishing buddy. Can't wait to see what he can do in 10 years!!


I looked forward to this lake all year!! Couldn't imagine fishing it when it's good!! Fun stuff!!

Congrats to ahn and Todd/Clay/Lil man well done guys!
we caught good fish on our pre-fishing trips and pretty decent numbers but tourney day was a different story. our first fish was 1.69 and the rest were all in the 1lb range. we had 6 fish by 10:30 and we struggled to get our 7th. I think we had #7 around noon and culled one more. it was good enough for us to take 3rd place in div 2 . the weather cooperated and we had a great time sweating our butts off , got to meet and fellowship with some great fisherman. we cant ask for more than that.

He's fishing with Craig, I don't know of one fish they have caught that was under 3 pounds. All were over 17" also.

He will post a report when he gets off the water in a week or so.

Nope, not a fish story. 7 best was over 21 pounds I am sure.

Sitting in Seattle airport waiting to get back to the 100+ degree heat index. Alaska was nice and cool 50-64 degrees. Fishing a little slow but did manage some decent halibut. All caught on jigs. But those jigs were 12-16 oz variety. Wish I had asked Todd to make some black emerald shiners in that big lizard size; I would have tried them out. Best 7 were over 100 lbs.
