On a scale of 1-10 how hard is it to replace the rack and pinion and cables on a 2009 Skeeter 190SX with 150 Yamah VMAX. I am no stranger to tools or repairs. I have never done or seen done a pinion/cable replacement. Please advise.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways with a fishing rod in one hand, 10# LMB in the other, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and yelling "Wow! What a Ride!

About a 6 with all of the dadgum other stuff ziptied to the steering and wires wrap around and around the cables. May require removing the outboard motor. Tie a rope to the cable eye at the motor end before removing the old cables to pull the new steering cables in. You might want to look at installing hydraulic steering, not a lot more money. http://www.lowcostboatingstore.com/
