I don't sit down, so playing games for hours, would be painful for me...plus it just doesnt sound fun.
BUT a game that requires you to walk around is more interesting. I did GeoCaching once or twice at Beavers Bend, that was fun. I just cant stare at my phone like the Pokemon requires....my neck can't handle "texting neck". So, I'm out. The staring at the phone screen is a common misconception with Pokemon Go. All you have to do is select the pokemon that's within range and then turn until you get an indication of the direction and then just start walking in that direction while looking at the phone once you reach a corner so you can figure out what direction to head next and then once you're in range the phone vibrates. I guarantee you, I can't get in my 4+ miles in an hour if I was looking down at my phone the entire time. Simply load the program and walk. Your phone buzzes when you come across something interesting. Look at it, play for a second or two, then put your phone down and keep on walking until something else buzzes. It's an excuse to get up and walk. Get your backside off the couch and go outside. I enjoy it because it feels like a combination of geocaching, foraging, and playing a competitive game.

Yep, I just leave my phone on in my pocket while I'm walking around the warehouse pulling orders or packing for shipment - it's just passively clocking distance to hatch eggs. When my phone buzzes, I take a few seconds to glance at it, maybe a few more to make a catch, then put it back in my pocket and keep working. When I'm at my desk, the phone is off (and charging)

http://www.theverge.com/2016/7/11/12150468/pokemon-go-privacy-full-account-access-permissionPokémon Go has become wildly popular in the days since its release last week, but the app may be hiding a serious security issue. In many cases, users who sign into the app through a Google Account are often inadvertently granting broad permissions over all information linked to the account, including the power to read and send emails. At no point in the sign-in process does the app notify users that full access is being granted.

The stuff people can find to complain about. That was my point. First people complaint cause the kids are lazy, then give them a game to go out and get some exercise...and people complain about it!...LOL!!

I guess walking around aimlessly is a form of exercise. I think they should sprint block to block and get that heart rate up to about 150.

The stuff people can find to complain about. More problems to deal with in the REAL world. Bills. Work. Gubermant. Oil Field Sucking Wind. Bills. Obamacare. Hum....let me think some more. I sometimes wish I lived in a Fairy Land far far away, free of daily worries.

I wouldn't play it but it sounds like something my 5 yr old daughter might enjoy. It might even be fun to do it with her.

My daughter dropped an "incident (?)" at a friends house with the hopes that he will have constant traffic all day from people playing this game. That seems fun.

When I'm at my desk, the phone is off (and charging) I have this crazy practice where I do work at work. I may get on my phone when I actually take a break. But that's the difference between working for someone else, and working for yourself. I have to actually earn my money. Effing around on my phone prevents me from getting the job done.

At no point in the sign-in process does the app notify users that full access is being granted. That was on the iOS platform only - it was an error in setting the app's permissions, and they released a statement yesterday that they're working with Google to get those permissions removed, since the app doesn't use them. There was already an update released last night to fix some bugs, but I haven't looked at the details to see if the fix for the permissions was included, since it might not have been caught in time. Also, it's just tied to my junk gmail address....nothing important in there.
