Anybody have any good chum receipes for chumming for kingfish, snapper, grouper, etc..?? I will be fishing out of Port Aransas starting next month (March). One more question - how do you dispense the chum and at what depths?? Any proven recommendations. Many Thanks

Welcome Changito......try the web (always an interesting source). We have successfully used canned dog food...it's nice and slick, and if you remove the lid and punch a hole in the other end, it will slide right out of the can (no muss/no fuss) LOL. We don't toss the cans/lids till we get back to dockside. Using the cheap stuff works. Haven't worried too much with depth, so you might want to experiment yourself and pay attention to your fish locator fish/depth readings.
Good Luck! Let's hear how you do!

Dog food works great!!! I'll take the can and put a hole big enough in the top to get a small rope through and poke a bunch of other smaller holes then lower is down about 30-45 ft. Seems to work pretty good for a bunch of different species.
A friend of mine that works a ranch and everytime a cows dies he puts the whole thing through a meat grinder and puts in in a trash can and in a locker freezer. When he gets a chance to go to the coast he uses it as chum in the same way as the dog food cans but on a much larger scale. IT attracts fish and makes it shark city also...

I use chopped shad (shinners)and other sun baked bait mixed in a bucket. and toss a few hand fulls overboard every few minutes works great for snapper, kings, ling, and whatever else is in the area.
