 lowrance 520c freezing up on depth help

i just got this thing mounted and took boat out but at WOT the depth freezes up at what the depth is when I open up the throttle. Also I am getting a bunch of clutter on screen any help? Thanks David

I had to adjust the Surface noise (I think that was the name) on mine. Looked like everywhere I went, I had shad under me. Had no problem with the depth thing tho, but did note that at 20 MPH the bottom goes to a very thin line not showing the hardness. Back to 10 MPH and it shows fine. Still playing with it.
