fwiw..I've found that larger carp are typically further out than the smaller carp, so perhaps cast out further (past your chum area for instance) and see if mom and pops are there.

Summer does'nt mean fun. Here is my son 's catch for 7 days on LBL mid summer several years ago.Scott Evil had mercy on us and put us on to some fish later.

caught my PB during Mid summer, that was the only one I caught but well worth the sweat 
PB Common = 36-8
PB Buffalo = 62-8
PB Mirror (fully scaled) 13-0
PB Flat Head Catfish = 44

What was the date of that catch? Mid July to mid August was really tough for us. That fish had skinny history. One good meal and a state champ!

Cool,Mr. Clark. Undoughtably one of the best summer captures and longest fish on LBL. I think it was the same fish fishyrichie captured at the homeless swim.It appears to be closing in on the 5' long barrier!
