Good advice in this thread. I recommend you stop at the State Park there and get the waterproof map they sell. It is the best map of the lake I have found.

Be careful of the heat this time of year. I was there last weekend and man was it hot. There is often no breeze so speak of on this lake so you can get overheated quickly.

Carry lots of ice. For you and the fish. No stringers in Caddo water, turtles. Do not forget your thermocell, you will want to be in the shade. Where they are...

I would get some crickets and park under a cypress tree with a cooler full of refreshments and snacks..

That wasn't really mentioned, you need to keep an eye on the outboard water temp. The grass in the lake always clogs up the input. I had to clear mine several times.

The best advice we got was run the motor in reverse before you jump on plane going anywhere. Watch your water pressure and indicators! The salvinia was mostly free floating in small clumps where I fished. The Coontail is THICK!!!!

FROG bite has been fair early in the morning and late evening. 10inch worms lightest weight possible around the trees in the current. Pad fields are in play during the hottest part of the day if you can take the heat reflection of them.. good luck
