My understanding is the only ramps currently open are Silverlake (@ $20 a pop!) or the high water ramp at Katie Wood's. I drove by Murrell Park and it looked like they have the road blocked to get the high water ramp there....
Curious about what it's like on a Saturday morning at the KW High Water ramp... a zoo I suspect...
Also, is the only parking for KW the small dirt lot right next to the ramp? Where are folks parking when that lots fills as it looks like it could only hold 10-12 boats at best and that's if everyone parks really good... and not like the guy yesterday that blocked one of the only 2 entrance/exits to the lot....

Saturday is generally a Zoo at Katie's Woods just because its cheap and the only public ramp open. On the weekends boaters part along the lake side of the road leading to Katie's woods. I have seen the little dirt lot completely full and trucks parked as far as 1/2 mile down the road. I launch there during the week(5:45-6:00am) and am usually the first boat on the water. When I leave around 9:30am there are normally 6-8 other vehicles with trailers.

Katie woods wouldn't be bad if it wasn't for all the people who have NO business trying to unload or load a boat.

Katie Woods ramp design is a joke. The person that designed that should loose there job. I dont have a problem but have witnessed one person trying to back there party barge for a good 20 minutes. Until i asked them if it would be alright if i did it for them.

Yes he did and was happy about it. I actually showed him how to back using just the mirrors and not his head on a swivel.

The problem is the guys and gals that cannot back a trailer to save their lives are trying to back down a steep ramp and things get crazy. Average time on that ramp for experienced people is only a matter of seconds..... I see people there weekly that take 10 minutes or more. The ramp is not the problem, it's the people

I was at Murrell the last Thursday and the high water ramp was open. The regular ramp was barricaded. Are you sure you were at the right ramp?
From Genesis: "And God promised men that good and obedient wives would be found in all corners of the earth."
Then He made the earth round...and He laughed and laughed and laughed!

Murrell high water ramp is open. Only problem with that ramp is you have to drive down the gravel road and everything you have gets god awful dusty. I guess I'm just too particular.

I drove out to Murrell on Monday (4th) and on Tue... the only road at Murrell that wasn't barricaded or locked to access was the road to Twin Coves (right) or White Chalk Rd to the dumpster & locked gate.. Monday was likely due to the 4th and keeping boats off the lake for the fireworks (KW High Water was closed on the 4th).. Not sure why it was closed on Tue.. but heard today that Murrell was open...
Have a tourney out of KW this weekend.. very early start, so we should miss the zoo launching.. but sounds like it might get interesting at weigh-in....
