The wife and I are thinking about going to Grand Lake next month meeting some friends up there and fishing. I am looking for tips where to stay and fishing tips for Bass and catfish (other couple wants to catfish). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

If it's flooded then fish the trees brush and grass with a senko or a spinnerbaits. If they are running water then fish ledges. Been there a few times and tha holds true on just about all the lake. Don't know about cats though.

Fish down lake by the dam on the deep bluffs with a blue fleck or red shad power worms...7" and 10" both. Perfect dog days of summer presentation, especially at night.

I like hitting the main lake points this time of year. If your going on the weekend try and get out early or the boat traffic gets horrible. Start off across the lake from Shangri La and work your way toward the dam. When the lake gets rough head to secondary points in the major creeks (Drowning, Horse, Duck, Ketchum). Those places will have the largest concentration of resident fish. I like using C-rig, FBall Jig, Squarebill 2.5 and Senko (watermelon Red & watermelonseed). I live close enough to Grand so I rarely stay but when I do it is at Stonebrook Inn bc they give a discount to tournament anglers and have boat plug ins. If your wanting all around fishing put in at Bernice Point and put in at Ott's (tell them Land Run Outdoors sent ya!). Check out our fb page link below as we post frequently from the Grand Lake Area. Good Luck and PM if you have any questions.
