awesome animals- ran into one while quail hunting about seven years ago near Roby, went up a 20foot or so foot mesquite tree in two leaps
Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

Maybe a pellet gun or light birdshot from a 410, but I personally think humans should never kill a predator of the animal world unless fearing for life, screws up the whole order of things. That cat is simply trying to live and if you leave your trash out, dogs food bowls, or have an apple pie on the window seal he will come around looking to eat, you should know better depending on you location. Great Pics!

Used to live in the Denver, CO metro area. You'd read about pets disappearing and someone would finally see it. Every once in a while, someone would get attacked on a hiking/biking trail.
Awesome animals.

I agree with DI...it's a shame that there are so many ignorant responses to this post. There are alternate means of getting rid of predators that commonly come to close for our comfort. Perhaps if the human race would quit breeding at an exponential rate, they would have more room to roam. Do not get me wrong, I am an avid hunter...of GAME species. I am no Buddhist, but I have a healthy respect for the NATIVE species in our great country and realize that they have rights as well. Sure, a big cat coming that close to human habitation is definately potentially dangerous...but to say "Ima gonna keel that ther critter cuz I seen him" is just irresponsible. How about relocation? Is that not a better solution for everyone? By the way...awesome pics.

Lets even the odds predator vs predator, rather than an anti-personell round shot from the kitchen table at say 30', I want these tough guys to grab a butcher knife and a garbage can lid and get it on, may the better animal win!!!

I saw a small Mountain Lion with Paul Mecca last year when we were fishing Lake Alan Henry. It was just walking along the shoreline looking for a meal I guess. It was pretty cool!

About 4 years ago I saw a mountain lion at Allen Henry. It was a week day in September. Hardly anyone was there. It was walking across the road that goes in to the parking area. I tell people this an they where very skeptical. The tail is what really confirms what you see. The cat I saw was in the 70-80 lb range. The tail was at least 3ft long. I also have seen a hugh male mountain lion that had been trapped at Sanderson last year.
