First of all let me say that in the early stages I had my gall bladder removed in January.

Dec 11 2015, I weighed in at a svelt 211 and was wearing a pretty tight 38 in the waist. At one time back around 2010 I weighed almost 240.

Anyway, I went to the Dr Dec 11 for a bad upper respiratory infection and weighed 211. The cough wasn't going away and I visited my dr again on Dec 22 and mentioned that I was having some real bad indigestion. He made an appointment with a gastro dr. on Dec 24 I had a sonogram that showed "multiple large stones" in my gall bladder. Jan 14 I had surgery to have it removed. I healed and started doing everything I could to make sure I didn't gain the wight back. I had some dumbells, 2x25#, 2x 15#, and 2x10#. I would do a set of 12 curls with each, then 10, then 8. Every time I passed my dumbells, I do at least 10 curls with the 25# no matter what. Then, I started doing pushups. 10 at first, then 15, then 25, now I do at least 3 sets of 25, then the curls, now I do forearms using the same set of reps. So I do 75 pushups, 3 sets of curls, 3 sets of forearms, every day until I feel like my shoulders or elbows need a rest and I will take a couple of days off of the weights. Now I run from my house, around town lake a couple of times on the days I take off of the weights. I may be down to a 32 soon. But, at 55 yrs old 5'8" I have no business weighing 200 lbs or being soft in the boob area. I feel pretty good.

That's awesome. I'm at the "before" part of that story. 5'11" and 225 lbs. About 30-40 lbs heavier than I really should be. What did you do other than the surgery to lose the weight? What are you at now that you're wearing a 34?

That's awesome! I am going to buy weights today and start what you did. I was weighing in at 350# about 4 years ago, and my Doctor told me and my wife he didn't see me living more than 5-8 years. I am down to 230# and would like to be about 200#.

I just made up my mind that I didn't want my dr talking to me about my weight any more or my kids calling me fat. I saw a video somewhere on facebook about strength maintenance. The guy would stop and do a quick set of 10 curls, or pull up, or push ups, or sit ups, whenever he passed his weights he would do something rather than keep walking. Didn't have to be much. Something was always better than nothing. You create a habit. Then you start to like how you look and feel.

You have to change your habits. I weigh in between 180-190 depending on how my day goes. But, I usually stay right around 182-186. My wife bought me some 33's and I tried those on. A little too tight, but the idea is very appealing. I will fast some this week and may get under 180/
