Sometimes its hard to decide whether to continue working on a new lure pattern or to chuck it and start over on something new. This one is most definitely worth the time and effort.







This was the first time on the water for this pattern. The one shown was done on a deep diving 2.5 lure blank. It fooled several nice bass holding on a bare hard bottom main lake point. Thought it was worth a photo or two. Thinking this lure pattern is worth keeping around....for a few more trips anyway .

Looks like a.keeper for sure.

You make half a doz. in different patterns for me to take to Mexico and I will definitely be able to tell you in 3 hours of fishing down there if it will work here or not. We make our first trip the last of Oct..

hey bois! here's a batch i did today. kind of the opposite color layout that you used. no clear coat yet. haven't had them to the water yet. hope they're productive.

should be ready tomorrow. i used the ac1315 instead of the d2t. just dipped the final coat a little while ago. had a couple more baits bubble with the d2t. i may have to switch over.

all coated up and ready for the water. working on novelty pattern now but need to make a stencil first.

Continuing with the original intent of my post.
This particular paint pattern (not the same as the 2.5 shown earlier in this post) started out as a knockoff of a Diawa lure pattern. After several months of changes, tweaks and testing its proven to be an effective pattern when bass are feeding on shad.



The photos are from a recent trip to a public lake in Henderson County. The water clarity is the same tea color found in most east Texas lakes, water temp was upper 80's with mostly clear skies, 5-10 mph winds shifting from east to southeast. Lots of numbers, all about the size...nothing over 3-4 lbs...just fun fast action. Don't think there's anything more to be done with this paint schedule. It regularly produces when bass are hitting crank-baits. Keep thinking good thoughts and good luck fishing .

Fished early Friday up in Fannin county. Wind was light, 3-7 mph, water temp in the upper 80's, visibility about 2 foot deep, scattered clouds. First few casts and this happenned:

I used my custom painted LC crank baits in 1.5 and 2.5 sizes and various patterns to land a bunch of nice bass holding on the edges of a 8-10 foot ridge running along a main lake point. Using an 8 foot casting rod and Shimano 5:4:1 reel spooled with 10 lb. braid I'm able to cover lots of water with one cast. Slowing the retrieve down after the lure is at its running depth is critical...slow crank...twitch, twitch...never completely stopping the lure. Later in the day after the crank bait bite slowed a 3/4 ounce "Mean Green" M-Pack Football jig finished out the day nicely.
