I had a Minn Kota 12' Talon professionally installed approximately 1 1/2 years ago. Recently I am hearing an irregular but consistent knocking/thumping noise while anchored. The Talon deploys and retracts without any problems or unusual noises. The sound only occurs when anchored. I spoke to Minn Kota and sent them a video with sound and they do not know what the cause is and recommended getting it to an authorized service provider. I am hoping someone has experienced something similar and advise me as to whether this is a problem or not as I am hoping to not have to haul the boat to the nearest provider.

Is it in rough water mode?

That was my first thought, but sound occurs whether in rough water mode or not.

Have you tried picking Minnkota's brain yet? Interested to know!
