 motor not trimming down

Motor goes up but doesn't try to trim down at all. The down switch isn't working at the bow ,throttle, or the transom. Any ideas?

with none of the switches working sounds like a bad solenoid or connection at the solenoid
1987 Nitro MX185/Mercury Black Max 150 (needs lots of work, put motor on nephew's boat)
1994 XSC-2200 "Jaguar" AKA Shadow 22 Magnum (restoring w/Mercury 200 XRI)
1994 Pantera II (restoring w/Mercury 200 EFI)

Yep. Mine was a relay and would only go up, switched them around and would only go down.

I'm going to replace the relay and the wiring. When I move the wiring around it will work in spurts.

sounds like just a bad connection or broken wire....relay should be good.

Make sure the switch has continuity when operated in both directions.

Replaced my relay. Switch them to test. Down will work. up wont
